Off the Bench: 347 attended Marlins game

Look, not only was there a hurricane approaching the Miami area on Wednesday afternoon, but there was an especially good episode of Judge Judy on.?That is no doubt why an unofficial count at the first game of the Marlins-Reds doubleheader on Wednesday at Sun Life Stadium put the attendance at 347 ? and I don?t doubt that, because less than 400 of anything is easy to count.

?Unofficial count of 347 at sunlife for first pitch?myself included!? tweeted Justin Cohen. Counted by hand. Still not the smallest crowd I?ve seen here ? There are literally 5 sections with 5 or fewer people and 3 with 0 people at the marlins game.?

There were substantially more people by the time the second game got underway, although how many more is hard to say. The announced attendance was 22,505 ? but that?s most likely tickets sold. Most of those people were home boarding up their windows and tying heavy objects to the cat.
