LONDON (AP) ? The chairman of Britain's Conservative party has apologized for not correctly declaring details of one of her central London properties.
Sayeeda Warsi said in a statement Sunday that she had made a mistake in how she informed Britain's upper house, of which she is a member, about a west London apartment she rented out. Warsi says the mistake was an oversight and that she takes full responsibility for not following the rules.
Several British politicians were caught up in an expenses scandal in 2009 when a leak of previously secret expense files revealed how politicians had incorrectly billed the public for living expenses and not been honest about how much they paid for accommodation.
Warsi, Britain's most senior Muslim politician, was not implicated in earlier waves of the scandal.
