Classism in higher education and Working class college students ...

So I just asked for two new LCSH to aid me in describing the zine Bursting Your Bubble : a Rant.

Classism in higher education

I'd love to see additional terminology for http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh00006748 for "Classism": "Classism in higher education," and potentially other "ins," per the "Racism in higher education" and "...in the work place" pattern.

I base this request on a zine I just cataloged for Barnard College/Columbia University that is entirely about the author's experience of the discrimination, abuse and snobbery she faces as a working class student at a most selective college (Oberlin).

Thank you for your consideration.

Working class college students

I recommend adding a cross reference to the terminology for http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2005004549 from "Low-income college students": "Working class college students." You might even consider changing the terminology and making "Low-income" the cross reference. It seems to me that "working class" is a more popularly used term, particularly among the group the term is meant to describe.

I would apply this heading to a zine I just cataloged for Barnard College/Columbia University that is entirely about the author's experience of the discrimination, abuse and snobbery she faces as a working class student at a most selective college (Oberlin).

A search in your catalog on < ALL: working class college student? > yields 67 results, so it seems there are quite a few people using the terminology I'm suggesting.
