LG has confirmed the LG Optimus G Pro, a 5.5-inch phablet running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean?will launch internationally in Q2 2012 in black and white.
News of the phone was confirmed by LG Korea (via TechCrunch), which stated it will be available from Q2 in overseas territories, including Japan and North America.?
The phone is the successor to the LG?Optimus G?(an Android smartphone that never made it to the UK), but with a bigger screen and battery. Clearly rivalling the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 the phone has a 5.5-inch screen with a full HD resolution of 1080p, uses IPS technology and PPI rating of 400 - which should mean?pin-sharp detail.
Inside the LG Optimus G Pro?there?s a 1.7Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor with 2GB RAM, promising ?a 24 per cent performance increase and reduced power consumption.
The Optimus G Pro has a 13-megapixel primary camera with features such as Virtual Reality Panorama, Tracking Focus for capturing movie subjects and Dual recording mode. The front-facing 2.1-megapixel camera is suitable for video calls.?NFC, 4G (LTE) and HSPA are on board, although at the moment we?re not sure of compatibility with UK 4G bands.
There?s no news on pricing of UK availability, but we are expect to find out more about the LG Optimus G Pro at Mobile World Congress next week.
